About This Project

“ Aya’s course was a gentle and profound transformation. Like one’s being pulled out of water when drowning. Aya provided the opportunity for me to face the needs in relationships that a busy schedule often fails to attend to. These include being mindful and connected to one’s feelings and having clarity on my habits and unconscious orientations within communications. Sometimes due to time constraints and anxiety, I oversee violence within relationships (towards myself or others). I’m grateful to connect with participants who are also experienced in the NGO sector and impacted by trauma. Through Aya’s guidance we had the chance to support and heal one another. Since NGO work often carries plenty of personal beliefs, value systems as well as being impacted by social backgrounds and the political malaise, in our daily workplace interactions, it’s easy to overlook mine and others’ needs. In the goal of completing tasks, we pay little attention to the conflicts within, and without knowingly being hurt and hurting others, as a result, we burn out physically and emotionally over time. I guess if it weren’t for Aya’s persistence in breaking down the dynamics of violence, pursuing inner discernment and peace, I would not have had the opportunity, capacity and effort to sort out myself at such a deep level. I understand Aya’s circumstances. I know several committed Israeli women who disagree with the government’s armed assaults. Each conflict outbreak, they are not only concerned about Israelis, their hearts also go with the Palestine people, bearing pain on both sides, none of them wish to continue the war, yet all effort was in vain. They are still doing what they could within capacity, relieving the pain of others or accompanying those in pain, empowering those within the community. It is from them, I see my path forward. ”
