“ Nora was extremely supportive as she listened reflectively and empathically. She was tender, kind and curious while I teased out my choices for how to move forward with an (almost completely) estranged daughter, an extremely painful experience for me. She gently made observations about some of my interpretations, offered strategies and asked if I would like to role play the conversation I was not sure how to have with my daughter. My take-aways were: clarity, healing compassion, a sense of being seen and understood and cared for. Nora, in my opinion, has natural skills and demonstrated that she has studied NVC and taken in not just into her library of knowledge, but into her body. She speaks from the heart as well as from her sharp mind.
Nora was careful to ask permission before “doing” anything with me. She checked in often to ask if she was “getting it right” and to see how things were landing with me as we worked together. I have no sense of dissatisfaction. She role played with me and switched roles and stopped when things weren’t working which was very helpful. She paid exquisite attention to details and it seemed nothing slipped by….nothing was not important. I loved that
I felt very comfortable with Nora for all the reasons mentioned above and because Nora was also vulnerable enough to share a similar experience she had had with a step-daughter that was excruciatingly painful. I saw her strength and softness and I felt I had a companion along my difficult path. Being accompanied is a key healing factor for me! ”
